Many associate trauma with a response to a horrific event, which is true. What's often overlooked is that trauma, meaning "wounded," can stem from unmet essential needs, often in childhood. Children may experience trauma not only from terrible incidents but also from the absence of being seen, heard, or held. The impact can persist into adulthood, manifesting as the repression of feelings, a reluctance to seek help, and a constant state of mental angst. If left unresolved, these challenges may lead to a belief that one must navigate life alone.
It's crucial to note that trauma may occur at any time, in childhood or as an adult, and can result from a single event or repeated experiences. Recognising and addressing these aspects can profoundly influence your path to healing and overall well-being
